Sub-ranks are the ranks in between titles (e.g. Knight, Villein), through which players must progress in order to get further in the game. Each Rank has its own number of sub-ranks which dictate how many research points a player can receive per title.
As your Rank increases, so do the number of sub-ranks and honour points required to rank up.
